Tignes Summer Ski

Tignes summer ski, during July and August, offers you 20 km of glacier pistes at an altitude of 3000m (750m vertical). The summer snow is ideal for the beginners in your party. The snow-park is the place for the more daring looking to try new tricks or improve old ones. Tignes summer skiing also extends to cross-country. Or if you feel like taking in the sun and scenery, you can improve your suntan on the terrace of the Panoramic restaurant in unique surroundings!

Location and Glacier Information

Tignes Summer Ski

The Glacier used for Tignes summer ski (La Grand Motte) is usually open from the beginning of July to the beginning of August. Summer skiing is on offer to the early birds looking for a morning of adrenaline pumping skiing. The glacier is open everyday from 7.15am to 1.30pm, with partial opening between mid-June to the beginning of July. There are 12 ski lifts  and extras include a snow park and an ice grotto.

The glacier is also accessible to pedestrians, who are able to visit the Ice Grotto, see the glacier and take in surrounding peaks. Tignes Glacier rises from 2700m to 3600m. From its summit of 3656m, the Grand Motte glacier dominates the surrounding area. The Grande Motte Glacier snow-park is open during the summer months allowing freestylers to practice, or watch the professionals complete their summer training.
